![]() Plan, direct, manage, and report on the planning and implementation of the annual and triennial budget of the Bureau.Provide effective direction, guidance and supervision to a diverse team of professional and support staff of ANB, and manage performance to ensure that work programmes and activities of the Bureau adhere to high-quality standards.Leads, directs and manages the work and staff of the Air Navigation Bureau, achieving results such as: (i) Aviation Safety and Air Navigation and (ii) Monitoring and Oversight. The Director/ANB leads and manages a team of professional and support staff, through two Deputy Directors who oversee the following major areas of ANB’s operation: S/he has overall accountability for all decisions taken within the ANB and in the Regional Offices with respect to these matters. S/he delivers expert, authoritative advice to the Secretary General as well as to the governing bodies on Safety and Air Navigation matters. The Director, ANB, as part of the senior management team of the organization, manages a large and diverse programme advancing ICAO’s strategic objectives. S/he is also charged with the planning, development and implementation of the ICAO Safety and Air Navigation Programmes, as outlined in the ICAO Strategic Objectives and as directed by the Assembly and Council. ![]() The Director, Air Navigation Bureau (ANB) reports directly to the Secretary General and is responsible for managing and coordinating the work of the Bureau. The Bureau also manages the Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) Continuous Monitoring Approach (CMA) which continuously monitors all States on their implementation of ICAO SARPs and PANS. Increasingly, the Bureau also develops a variety of implementation support products for the aviation community. With the assistance of State experts and International Organizations, the Bureau develops Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and Procedures for Air Navigation Services (PANS) and supports their approval process through the governing body of ICAO. The Bureau maintains and supports the implementation of the Global Aviation Safety Plan (GASP) and Global Air Navigation Plan (GANP) and produces yearly reports on Aviation Safety and Air Navigation Capacity/Efficiency to demonstrate progress against the Global Plans. ![]() The Air Navigation Bureau provides technical expertise in aviation-related disciplines to States, industry and all elements of the Organization.
